The Florida Department of Education was approved by the United States Department of Education to exercise the flexibility to waive certain provisions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965, and the associated regulatory administrative requirements.
Continuing for 2013-2014, the District is not required to offer students the opportunity to transfer to higher performing schools under NCLB Public School Choice. As such, schools will not be sending or receiving any new students under NCLB Public School Choice. No new students, including siblings, will be added to the list of students participating in NCLB Public School Choice.
- Students currently participating in NCLB Public School Choice (transfer codes C, D, F & 6) will be permitted to remain at their school of choice until the highest grade level offered at that school.
The District will continue to provide transportation for one more school year to those students (transfer codes C, F, & 6 only) who were participating in NCLB Public School Choice at the end of the 2012-2013 school year and who are “Futured” to that school for 2013-2014.
Should parents decide to rescind their current NCLB transfer, please have them complete and sign the attached NCLB Request to Rescind Transfer Form (click here
). Please fax completed form, as indicated, to 305 596-9788.
